Infrared Sauna Near, Mid and Far

The Power of Healing is in the Science!

Your Health and Wellness are important to You and we want to make you feel better so that you can do more and live more fully. Because Sunlighten® infrared panels have the highest emissivity rating possible, they do not generate uncomfortable levels of heat, allowing you to stay in the sauna longer and reap more of the benefits of infrared.

Numerous corrective and preventive health benefits have been shown to come from infrared therapy, including pain relief, lowering blood pressure and improving heart health, boosting the immune system, detoxification, weight loss and anti-aging.

Areas of Treatment

The Infrared Sauna treats the body and skin by heating from the inside out. Infrared rays have the power to revitalize your cells and metabolism. This treatment is great for body and skin!

Benefits of Treatment

Infrared heat penetrates joints & muscles to relieve acute and chronic pain conditions. It also increases circulation & blood flow to help recover from strenuous athletic activity and reduces spasms & stiffness.

Because infrared penetrates joints and muscle tissue and increases circulation, it is a terrific therapeutic treatment for people with autoimmune disorders. By reducing soreness on nerve endings, Sunlighten’s patented Solocarbon® infrared heat reduces muscle spasms, relieves pain and relaxes the body.

Infrared heat is absorbed by the body’s tissues, and improves the health of your body at the cellular level. Infrared helps to increase white blood cell production, T-cell production, and stimulates the circulatory system… all of which help to strengthen your immune system!

Although it can take several sauna sessions before sweating is induced, sweating is the body’s natural way to stay healthy. Infrared helps induce a healthy sweat to increase blood flow & perspiration and rids the body of toxins.

Infrared saunas heat the body from the inside out, and over time will induce a healthy sweat. The infrared heat dilates the vessels and reduces blood vessel lining, which improves circulation and cardiac function and lowers both systolic & diastolic pressure.

Some studies have shown that an infrared sauna session can burn up to 600 calories! During the session, the infrared heat increases cardiac output and metabolic rate. Regular sauna use has been shown to reduce weight and waist circumference in as little as three months.

Near infrared saunas provide the most effective wavelength for healing the epidermis and dermis layers of the skin. Infrared helps to decrease acne and improve skin tone, as well as increase collagen & elastin, thus reducing wrinkles and improving skin’s firmness.

How it Works

In a Sunlighten sauna, infrared heat is emitted via Solocarbon® heater panels inside the sauna. Solocarbon® is proprietary technology and proven to deliver 99% emissivity. This is more infrared output than any other sauna in the world.

Infrared heat is the invisible part of the sun’s spectrum, which is comfortably absorbed by human tissue. The most important element in an infrared sauna is the heater’s emissivity rating, which determines how efficiently heat is emitted. Sunlighten’s patented solocarbon® heaters include full-spectrum infrared (far-infrared, mid-infrared and near-infrared) and have an emissivity rating of 99% (the highest rating possible!). This means while most saunas just increase the ambient temperature of the room, Sunlighten® saunas have the emissivity needed to heat your body from the inside out, and are the only saunas proven to raise the core body temperature by five degrees (Fahrenheit). These saunas are safe (all materials are FDA approved and non-toxic) and effective!

Frequently Asked Questions

We ask that you wear a swimsuit or shorts and a tank top. You will be given a towel to put on the bench to sit on, as well as one to put on the floor for your feet.

Don’t be surprised if you don’t sweat for the first several sessions! Remember, the Sunlighten® solocarbon technology allows for the greatest possible emissivity rating, which means your body absorbs more of the infrared, and the room doesn’t get as hot as other saunas (that’s a good thing!).  Sweat levels vary from person to person, and will increase with regular sauna use.

We do not allow sauna use for pregnant women, as their body temperature is elevated to begin with, and we want to avoid further elevation. Children may use he sauna when accompanied by an adult, but your time will be limited to 1 minute per year of age of your child. If you have other conditions that you are concerned about, please consult with your doctor before using the sauna.

It is a good idea before and after sauna use to drink 24 ounces of water in order to keep your body well hydrated.

Start with about 10 minutes and work up to as long as 40 minutes or so each session for optimal health benefits according to your goals.

As you get used to using an infrared sauna, you will need to get used to how long it takes to break a sweat, and time yourself after that point between 20-45 minutes or so. If you don’t normally sweat a lot, it may take a few sessions before you begin to sweat much during a session. The temperature of the air in the sauna does not need to be uncomfortably warm for you to start sweating, so you may not feel the urge to leave due to discomfort from heat.

As always, stay well hydrated before and during each session, and leave the sauna if you feel unwell, dizzy, or overheated. Always consult your doctor before starting to use a sauna.

Detoxification protocol: 2 to 3 times per week for 1 month.

Athletic performance protocol: 2 times per week for 3 weeks. Ongoing maintenance depends on your training schedule. Usage ranges from 2 times per week during peak training, to once a month during off-season.

Skin Rejuvenation Protocol: 3 times per week for 12 weeks.

Pain-and-inflammation protocol: 2 times per week for 6 weeks. If you have chronic pain, maintenance should be 1 time per week. If injury related, there is no need to return.

Weight-loss protocol: 3 times per week for 8 to 12 weeks.

Blood-pressure/heart health protocol: 2 to 3 times per week for 4 weeks.

Performance-care / cellular health protocol: 3 times per week for 4 to 6 weeks.

Maintenance for these protocols can vary from once a week for more intense needs to once a month, if doing other things to regularly detox (exercise, eating clean, sleeping well, low stress). For example, a Lyme disease patient is going to want to go in weekly for an extended period of time. Someone on a proactive wellness protocol may only want to use the infrared sauna weekly, or once per month.

If the reason you are coming in is chronic, or continuing, more sessions are generally needed.

With infrared sauna therapy, it is best to take a day in between each visit to give your body time to process the treatment.

It is best for you to consult with your primary care physician regarding treatment parameters and appropriateness for your personal health history and goals.
